Welcome in 2014

After a very busy and successful 2013 – which we sent off with quite a flourish – we’re now busy again at the Forest with the start of our holiday program plus Chinese New Year Celebrations.

If you haven’t yet discovered the delights of the Australian Rainforest Sanctuary – locally known as the Forest of Tranquility – then we encourage you to do so in 2014.  We’re based at Ourimbah, on the Central Coast of NSW and are committed to the care of and education for our environment.  The Forest is a wonderful place for getting close to Australia’s rare native flora and fauna, a meditative space, a way to get away from the stress of everyday life and commune with nature.

Here is a summary of our events and activities through January and February:

Sculpture in Tranquility

part of the Tranquility Exhibition~EXHIBITION NOW CLOSED~

Tranquility Exhibition ~ Sculpture in the Greens.

The Forest is thrilled to be offering it’s Tranquility exhibition as part of this year’s Sculpture in the Greens –  an annual arts and cultural exhibition on the Central Coast, now in it’s 37th year. Artists come from across NSW to participate in this event.  This is the second sculpture exhibition in the Forest. Floodfest 2011, being the first, was a collaboration between the community, musicians and sculptors

This year, the Forest is featuring forms in nature from 5 selected artists including:

  •  Dandelions by Al Phemister, recently exhibited in the Sydney Botanical Gardens Arts Exhibition
  • Splash by Louise Steer
  • And work by local artist Emilia Krumm under tutorship with Col Henry.

For those wishing to view the sculptures and picnic in the park without undertaking the 5 km rainforest trail, there is a special discount entry price of $10/adult.

The Exhibition is open now and runs until 26 May 2013.
